See you later 2012 !

2012 was a fantastic year. Even though its already been a month into 2013 (woah how time flies...) I feel like before I start on anything new, I need to dedicate this post to everyone who has made my 2012 so wonderful. Of course there have been a couple of setbacks along the way but I can safely say that I have learnt so much about myself and grown up tremendously in the last year. I am pretty proud of the girl that I have become today.

oh!12 flashback...here it goes! Thank you for making me smile 2012, miss you already!

Apart from the usual cut-all-carbs-and-get-skinny goal , I have a new new years resolution this year. This is the year I promise myself to leave the bitter part of my past behind. Erase all the memories of it and just start fresh. I promise to be braver, stronger and fill my mind and heart with only things that me happy ;)

SALES ALERT

IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN. SALES ARE EVERYWHERE !!
Mama Chan and I decided to hit the stores. Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nics we did them all. Maybe it was because we went on a Wednesday but it wasn't as chaotic as I thought it was going to be. The sale in Selfridges was definitely the best, we spent a good four hours in there going up and down those escalators with piles of clothes, accessories and shoes in our hands. #saleproblems

Here are some of my favourite things I got yesterday!

Sportmax studded blouse (one of my fav brands of all time yay!)
Topshop playsuit (unfortunately this was not in the sale..oops...but I had to get it!
Christian Louboutin leather sandals- reduced from £400 to £280!
Finally new sandals. Been looking for a good pair for sooo long!

The shoe sale in Selfridges is the best! Plenty of sizes and styles to choose from. Would definitely go there if you're looking to do some serious shoe hunting!

Sorry I don't have time to upload the rest of my pictures but I am in a bit of a rush to go babysitting with Emma and I still haven't taken a shower after my run this morning!eekkk don't judge!

Sushi Sushi Sushi!

My favourite cuisine by far is Japanese. When I saw that there was a new Japanese restaurant open in Wimbledon, I had to try it. Stick'n'sushi originated from Copenhagen (found that a bit unusual...never thought I would use sushi and Copenhagen in the same sentence!) Anyway, after reading a bit about the restaurant, I found out that it was set up by three half-Japanese, half-Dutch brothers. They took advantage of their multicultrual background and created an innovative fusion dish. I can tell you now that they got it spot on. The food was so delicious!

The interior was super chic and modern- brick walls and celling kind of reminded me of a New York loft apartment?!
The salmon, the duck and his friends- The name of this dish made me giggle
Yummi Roll- Tempura shrimp, avo, sugar snaps, red onion and hamachi on top .NOM.
Chicken and leek skewers in teriyaki sauce
Mixed salad with all my favourite ingredients- avo, edamame, warm duck, chicken, egg and best of all...soy sesame dressing! :)
Had to try this- looked too cute. Chocolate bite with crispy puffed rice coating
Mama Chan chose this- Chocolate cake with raspberry foam and vanilla ice-cream. Wasn't too keen on it at first but turned out to be rather yummy. The super sweet and chocolately cake complimented the light, tangy raspberry foam perfectly!
Got to have it with all the layers! YUM

Another great restaurant that i will definitely be revisiting! Recommend it to all fusion Japanese lovers out there!

Uploading these photos are making me crave sushi seriously badly! I really do have an unhealthy obsession with sushi...well what can i say....i'm a penguin.

Penguin's First Meal

On my morning jog down to Wimbledon village this morning, I came across Aubaine- a restaurant that was recently featured on thelondoner- curious to see if it was as good as she made it out to be, I decided to cancel my reservations for Japanese and go there for dinner instead.

The food there surely did not disappoint, everything was so delicious!

For starters:
Salmon Tartare with Avocado
Crab, egg and mayonnaise  (personal fav!)
Mixed salad with walnuts, figs and pear
Moving on to Mains:
Roast Rack of Lamb with assorted vegetables
Grilled Sea Bass with steamed muscles& artichoke in amazing tomato sauce!
Goat's cheese and mushroom tart (mama chan's fav!)
Lastly, Dessertssss..!
Chocolate mousse with granola
Poor Ju in the background, anxiously waiting for me to give him his dessert back!
Mama Chan and I shared this petite raspberry tart, not as good as it looked...raspberries were a little toooo sour !

But overall, I would gladly recommend Aubaine to everyone. Great for a causal dinner with family and friends, also the afternoon tea there looks aaaamazing...might have to take a trip back there soon!
